Momenta Plans Robotaxi Tests in More Cities

Momenta Global is a Chinese self-driving company. It has more than 100 robotaxis in three countries, although its robotaxi business is still at an early stage. It is testing in five Chinese cities, Munich, and Abu Dhabi.
According to a Momenta executive, the company plans to deploy vehicles in Dubai next year. It is talking with a few European cities about further expansion, and Japan is also a priority market. The company hopes its fleet will reach hundreds by the end of 2026 and several thousand by the end of 2027.
A robotaxi is not simply a normal car without a driver. It has to observe roads, other vehicles, people, and local traffic rules. A new city can have different road designs, weather, driving patterns, and legal requirements. Testing in one city does not automatically prove that a service can work in another city.
That is why trials matter. They allow a company to test how its system works in a new local environment before a wider service begins.
