Two Goats Trim Grass at a Tokyo Station

Friday, November 6, 2026111 words2 minutes207 reads
Two goats have a job at a train station in Tokyo. They eat grass beside Yotsuya Station. The railway company, JR East, is trying this way to clear unwanted plants. The goats are called Nagi and Pokke.
People stop to watch them eat. Some take photos. The goats do not need a noisy grass-cutting machine. But they need help from people. Station workers give them water and a small place to rest. Visitors should watch from a safe distance.
This is a test. Goats cannot clear every unwanted plant. The company has not said how much money or energy they save. For now, the animals give busy travellers something to enjoy.
