Harbin is a very cold city in China. In winter, it can be -30°C outside. People there use special ways to stay warm.
One way is the kang. It's a warm bed made of bricks. The kang connects to the kitchen stove. When people cook, hot air goes under the kang and makes it warm.
The kang is different from normal heating. It only warms the bed, not the whole room. People stay warm by sitting or lying on it with blankets.
