In China, some couples can now register their marriage in unusual places. They can go to a bank, a metro station, a mall, or a park.
One metro station in Hefei is called Xingfuba. The name sounds like “happiness” in Chinese. It has a marriage registration office. More than 5,600 couples have received their marriage certificates there.
An official checks the documents, and officials still do the legal work. But the new places can make the process easier and more special.
